Description: The Blacksburg High School Studio Theatre Class presents the play "Antigone" on The Lyric stage on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

"Antigone" is adapted from the Greek tragedy by Sophocles about the conflict between personal, religious duty and state law. After her brothers die fighting for the Theban throne, Antigone defies King Creon’s decree by attempting to bury her brother Polynices, leading to a tragic showdown over moral obligation, pride, and divine law.

Tickets are pay-what-you-will and are only available at the door the day of the show.

Doors open at 10:30 AM and the show starts at 11:00 AM.

The Lyric Theatre is located at 135 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
