Date: April 17, 2026
Time: 3:00 - 6:00 PM
Venue: Warm Hearth Village Center
Description: Warm Hearth Village continues the Warm Hearth Village Connections Series with an event titled "Become a Dementia Friend & The Dementia Family Network" at Warm Hearth Village Center on Friday, April 17, 2026.

Dementia Friends is a one-hour educational session designed to provide a foundational understanding of dementia, and related conditions. Participants will gain insight into how dementia can affect thinking, behavior, and communication, and will learn practical strategies for responding with confidence and compassion. The session concludes with five key takeaways that can be immediately applied and shared with others.

Following the training, guests are invited to remain for the Dementia Family Network, an informal gathering created to foster connection and continued learning. This opportunity allows family members and friends to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and engage in meaningful conversation. Certified Dementia Practitioners will be present to help guide discussion and provide additional insight.

From 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, join us fora one-hour session covering the basics of dementia and practical strategies for responding with confidence and compassion.

From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we will gather informally to connect, converse, and share learnings with Certified Dementia Practitioners.

The Warm Hearth Village Center is located at 2387 Warm Hearth Drive in Blacksburg, VA.
