The YMCA at Virginia Tech presents the Annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026 centered around The Lancaster House in Blacksburg, VA. This year, the YMCA at Virginia Tech will celebrate the 34th anniversary of Healthy Kids Day®, a national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. Healthy Kids Day® is a free“ Summer Kick-off” event including a 1-mile fun run, enrichment activities, fun-filled games, interactive demonstrations and a healthy focus on family life! The YMCA Food Truck will also be on site. The event will also be promoting local summer programs and activities for children, encouraging them to remain active throughout the summer months. Bring out the family and take a walk, run, skip, hop, jog or dance along our 1 mile Fun Run route starting at 10:30 AM starting and finishing outside the YMCA Lancaster House on Washington Street in Blacksburg. The route meanders through beautiful Stadium Woods and around Lane Stadium and Cassel Coliseum. We do not charge for the Fun Run, but a suggested donation of $5.00 per person to help with event costs and our Y program for kids in our community.
