Wilderness Road Regional Museum presents Historic Newbern's Annual Founders Day Celebration and Feast on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Event Schedule: • 1:00-3:30 PM: Founders Day Celebration • 5:00 PM: Founders Day Feast (Reservation Required) Join us for the Annual Founders Day Celebration in Historic Newbern. Enjoy living history displays with the Fincastle Company, a cultural dance presentation by Westover Ballet to represent many of the early settlers to Newbern. Members of the educational group Central Appalachian Cherokee will share history and artifact displays. The museum will share stories of the local German and Swiss Patriots from the area. Kid friendly activities will also be set up on the grounds. The celebration is from 1:00-3:30 PM and free to enjoy and open to the public. At 5:00 PM, our Annual Founders Day Feast will take place in the 1818 German Barn, reservations and suggested $40.00 donation required. The Bavarian inspired menu will include Bavernbrot Bread, Pichelsteiner (Bavarian Stew with local Back Creek Wagyu), and Bienenstich (Bee Sting Cake) for dessert.
