Claytor Lake State Park kicks off their Fall Foliage Hayrides starting on Saturday, October 4, 2025 and continuing through Saturday, November 15, 2025. Happy fall, y'all! With fall comes vibrant colors that light up our trees and grace our forests with shades of yellow, orange, and red. As the season's change and the leaves begin to turn, Claytor Lake State Park will be doing fall foliage hayrides around the park every Saturday, starting on October 4th and continuing on until mid-November. An interpretive ranger will be on the trailer giving a tour of the park, discussing why the leaves change colors, and other natural things we'll see as we ride around. The hayrides will start at 1:00 PM and go until 5:00 PM with every hayride lasting about one hour and leaving on the hour. After November 1st, the time of the hayrides will be from 12:00-4:00 PM due to the time change. The hayride dates are as follows: • October 4th from 1:00-5:00 PM • October 18th from 1:00-5:00 PM • October 25th from 1:00-5:00 PM • November 1st from 1:00-5:00 PM • November 8th from 12:00-4:00 PM • November 15th from 12:00-4:00 PM Note: The October 11th hayrides have been cancelled. The hayrides are free however the state park parking fee of $7.00 per vehicle still applies. We hope to see you in the park! Claytor Lake State Park is located at 6620 Ben H.
