The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and the National Forest Service presents the 2025 Kids' Fishing Day for ages 15 & under on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Pandapas Pond in Blacksburg, VA. Join us for a fun day of fishing with prizes awarded! Prizes will be awarded to the largest fish and there will be a free hot dog lunch for the kids. Pandapas Pond will be stocked specially for this event, and the trail and pond will be closed to the public except for participants. Area Conservation Police Officers will be on hand to measure the fish. At noon, a whistle will blow and the fishing derby ends. The event is free is for ages 15 and under. You do not need to register for this event. Children will be allowed to catch and keep up to three trout, a minimum of seven inches or longer. Bring your own fishing pole and fishing gear. A parent or adult guardian must accompany all children. Pandapas Pond is located at Forest Service Road 808 in Blacksburg, VA off of Route 460.
