The Pearisburg Police Department and the Pearisburg Junior Woman's Club are hosting a Police Officer Cancer Benefit Meal for Officer Jacob Gilbert on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Pearisburg Fire Department. Officer Jacob has been diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes and will require another and more invasive surgery at UVA. As he heals from past and future interventions, we would like to provide an opportunity for his community to show support to him and his family. Please pray for his recovery and consider contributing to this hometown first responder in need. Hot dog meals will be provided by donation and will be available to eat onsite or to go. If donating by check, please make check payable to Pearisburg Junior Woman's Club. Donation box sites prior to the event include locations at the Pearisburg Town Hall and the Pearisburg Police Department.
