The Waldron Fitness Center sponsors and presents the 2024 Independence Day 5k & Fun Run beginning and ending at Old Town Fields in Shawsville, VA on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Race Day Schedule: • 7:00-7:45 AM: Race Day Packet Pickup • 8:00 AM: 5k begins • Shortly after 8:00 AM: Kids Fun Run begins Join us on Independence Day for a 5K road course through beautiful Shawsville, VA. This race can be a competitive race for you and/or a reunion of friends. And, there is a free Fun Run for the little ones. Enjoy a Competitive Road Course with race awards given out. Trophies will be given out to the overall top three men and women and medals to the top three runners for each age group. There will also be a plague awarded to the Fastest Family (three immediate family members scored by age group). The road course is mostly level and follows Old Town Road West, loops onto US 460 and back onto Old Town Road for the return leg. Water will be available at 1.5 miles. Registration is $35.00 and includes a t-shirt if registered before Monday, July 1st.
