The New River Valley Sheep and Goat Club presents their 3rd Annual Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) Sheep & Goat Festival on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at New River Valley Fairgrounds in Dublin, VA. Mark your calendars! This year’s festival promises to be the biggest and best ever! Enjoy live music, live demonstrations including sheep & goat shearing, goat milking, yarn spinning and dog trials! There will also be a petting zoo, kid’s craft and activity area, photo booth, sheep and goat breed display, numerous vendors and club members who make exciting creations from wool and/or goat milk, educational booths & displays, and everyone’s favorite, the Spinning Wheel of Prizes! This year we will also have a Starter Flock Sale! If you’ve been "on the fence" about raising sheep or goats, this is your chance to get a great start. This is a family event that is free to the public due to the generosity of our sponsors. Be prepared to be dazzled and have more fun in one day than you can imagine! Eew don’t want to miss this! Please, no outside animals allowed for the safety of our farmers' livestock. The mission of the New River Valley Sheep & Goat club is to support and promote the sheep and goat agri-business throughout the region and provide education and appreciation of these breeds for the benefit of club members and the general public. As farmers, members are stewards of the land and believe it is important to raise healthy animals in a manner that improves their land, the community and the environment. The club welcomes all aspects of the sheep and goat breeds. The New River Valley Sheep and Goat Club has over 200 member farms, and over 500 members, throughout the New River Valley as well as West Virginia and North Carolina.
