Road to Redemption with ESPN's Lauren Sisler:

Date: September 28, 2022
Time: 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Venue: Bondurant Auditorium (Preston Hall)
Description: The Radford University Recovery Community presents "Road to Redemption" with ESPN's Lauren Sisler on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 inside Bondurant Auditorium located within Preston Hall on the campus of Radford University.

Radford University and Radford University's Collegiate Recovery Community are thrilled to be hosting and bringing back ESPN's Lauren Sisler in honor of Recovery Month. Lauren is a native of Giles County and after graduating went to Rutgers University on a gymnastics scholarship, when suddenly during her freshman year, tragedy struck. Lauren lost both of her parents within hours of each other due to a concealed battle with prescription drug addiction.

Join us to hear Lauren's powerful story of redemption and hear our panel of experts on the importance of recovery in college. Lauren will discuss how she was able to overcome the resulting adversity, finding her own path to a successful life and career.

After Lauren's presentation, there will be a short panel discussion with Reed Yearwood, Radford University’s peer recovery specialist, and Rosalind Watkins, the founder of the JHW Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation aimed at raising awareness about substance use disorders in young adults and supporting young adults in recovery.

The presentation and panel discussion provide an important opportunity for the Radford community to explore mental health and substance abuse topics, which are on the rise among college students.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
