Wear your favorite pirate attire and get ready to celebrate like a pirate on Claytor Lake! Enjoy pirate music and dance with The CrossJacks followed by live music with our favorite coastal pirate Perry Abell, boat decorating contest $100 gift card for the best decorated pirate ship, water battles between boats and spectators, kids activities, $100 gift card for the best pirate costume, pirate games, Tony will have a special pirate inspired menu feature at the waterfront grill, pirate drink specials and lots of pirate fun on Claytor Lake!

The Crossjacks is an acoustic folk trio playing the traditional European music that inspired today's Appalachian music. They are popular performers at Celtic, Renaissance, medieval, pirate, Viking and other festivals throughout the mid-South, often appearing in full period costume.

The trio performs an eclectic variety of the European Folk music that shaped the Appalachian music of today. Their repertoire includes authentic sea shanties, Celtic and Romanian traditional and folk songs, and old-time fiddle tunes, as well as modern festival favorites.

The Crossjacks released their self-titled debut album in July 2020.

Singer songwriter Percy Abell's love of music and the beach have merged into a tropical Americana sound that is fun and filled with many personal connections with his love of the beach, sun and sand. To date he has written nearly 15 original songs that he is currently in the studio working to record.

In November 2018, Percy's debut single was released and immediately entered the tropical Americana scene hitting the charts on the Radio A1A (to date has gone as high as #7) and tikipod radio(#1).

Percy has played the guitar for nearly 30 years and has always had a love of singing. His music has been heavily influenced by the music of Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney and Garth Brooks. He covers music from the 70's, 80's as well as current music from the Tropical Americana world.

Percy Abell is a native of Virginia, living in the Lynchburg Area for 35 years. He is former career college head baseball coach, who has most recently retired from coaching and is a full time college professor.
