Description: The Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Blacksburg present the 2022 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Blacksburg Municipal Park starting at 6:00 PM.

Schedule:
• 6:00 PM: Patriotic Music from The Blacksburg Community Band
• 7:00 PM: Blue Ridge Vocal Performs
• 8:00 PM: Dirt Road Breakdown Performs
• 9:30 PM: Fireworks Show begins

Enjoy live music from The Blacksburg Community Band with a concert filled with patriotic music to get you in the spirit of the day along with a limited number of food vendors followed by a performances from Blue Ridge Vocal and local band Dirt Road Breakdown before everyone's favorite annual Fireworks Show.

Lee Worley and Bob Chew bring you swamp rocking Americana and classic honky tonk plus originals and enough rock and rockabilly to keep your feet a jumping. This unique duet we'll have you thinking it is a full four-piece band.

Drawing from North Mississippi Allstars, Tom Petty, CCR, Black Keys, Muddy Waters, Jack White, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Rolling Stones, etc.

"We are creating originals and doing covers with a sound that proudly combine our influences with our southern roots to create a sound all our own."

The Blacksburg Community Band, Inc. is an all-volunteer community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. The band is under the direction of David McKee.

The ensemble is open to individuals of all ages and ability levels from the New River Valley and surrounding areas and performs in an average of 20 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley. The band was incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit corporation in 2007.

Blue Ridge Vocal Connection is based in the New River Valley region of Virginia. The group sings together because they appreciate the joy and art of choral singing. They purpose to perpetuate the love of singing together and fellowship in our community by performing concerts that inspire and entertain.
