Description: Blacksburg Library presents a program on Dyslexia led by Pediatric Speech Pathologist Vicki Brackett on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Could your child be struggling with Dyslexia? Does your child struggle with reading, spelling, memorizing number facts, recalling addresses, phone numbers and/or sight words?

Dyslexia affects 1 in 5 people. These are just a few dyslexia symptoms.

Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. This presentation will discuss the characteristics of dyslexia, the common myths, and various interventions.

Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist and Dyslexia Consultant Vicki Brackett, SLP-CCC will lead the program. An extensive resource list will also be provided.
