The Floyd Country Store presents the Friday Night Jamboree inside with The Slate Mountain Ramblers on Friday, September 3, 2021. Event Schedule: • 6:30 PM: TBA • 7:30 PM: The Slate Mountain Ramblers The Slate Mountain Ramblers have been a mainstay of the dance and festival culture in central and western North Carolina and southwest Virginia for 25 years and are still going strong. Headed up by fiddler, Richard Bowman from Ararat, Virginia, the Ramblers started as group of friends and morphed into a family band over the years. The Friday Night Jamboree after being moved online and outside due to COVID has now returned back inside! The Friday Night Jamboree happens every Friday, rain or shine, all year round at the Floyd Country Store. The first hour is gospel music and this is followed by two dance bands. The dance bands provide the right beat for our enthusiastic crowd of flat foot dancers and cloggers. General admission tickets for the Jamboree are sold at the door only starting no earlier than 4:45 PM on Friday's. Reserved seating is now also available in a very limited number of reserved seats, located in the center section starting from the second row through the fifth row. Reserve seating is limited to 40 seats with a maximum eight tickets per order. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first served basis, per customer request and special needs. The livestream is free with donations accepted to support the musicians. The Jamboree operates on “Granny’s Rules” – no smoking, no drinking alcohol, no bad language, and no conduct unbecoming to a lady or a gentleman. It’s a great time for the whole family, and you’re likely to see kids from six to ninety-six out on our hardwood dance floor. You may even be one of them.
