Floyd Small Town 2021 Summer Series with Music from Redd Volkaert Band & Movie: Trolls World Tour:

Date: July 29, 2021
Time: 6:00 - 10:00 PM
Venue: Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park
Organizations: Floyd Small Town Summer, Redd Volkaert
Description: The Town of Floyd continues its 4th Annual Floyd Small Town Summer series featuring music from the Redd Volkaert Band and the movie "Trolls World Tour" on Thursday, July 29, 2021 outside at Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park.

The Town of Floyd offers this series of free events to provide a fun, family-friendly atmosphere in downtown Floyd, VA. The events take place on alternating Thursdays from mid-June to the end of August and feature music and movies with lots of additional activities provided to highlight the park and community organizations.

Probably best known as the most Roy Nichols-like successor to the great Roy Nichols in Merle Haggard’s famous backup band, the Strangers, Canada native Volkaert had no difficultly establishing his place among the country’s top Telecaster guitar slingers.

However, to call Volkaert a mere Nichols-like Stranger would be selling short his seemingly effortless ability to conjure up at will a vast array of complex guitar styles and techniques in countless genres and subgenres of country, rock, jazz, swing, surf, etc. Volkaert (a 2004 Grammy nominee for best country instrumental performance) has indeed mastered the many guitar styles he plays in.
