The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents a free movie screening of "Lincoln" on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm inside Colonial Hall inside the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech. The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies will host a screening of "Lincoln", Steven Spielberg’s 2012 biopic that focuses on Abraham Lincoln’s efforts to pass the 13th amendment to end slavery. In addition, Abraham Lincoln expert Edna Greene Medford, professor at Howard University, will lead a discussion of the history behind the movie. The screening is free and open to the public. Note: The screening was originally scheduled to be at The Lyric Theatre, but has now been moved to Colonial Hall.
