2019 Spirits Along the Wilderness Road Wagon Ride:

Date: October 27, 2019
Time: 4:00 - 8:00 PM
Venue: Wilderness Road Regional Museum
Cost: $10.00
Description: The Wilderness Road Regional Museum presents the 2019 Spirits Along the Wilderness Road Wagon Ride on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Join the Wilderness Road Regional Museum for a family friendly and educational wagon ride into the past at our annual Spirits Along the Wilderness Road event. History happened here and spirits appear each October to help us share their stories. A leisurely, 30-minute horse drawn wagon will transport participants back in time to the early days of Historic Newbern.

Colonel James Patton, Colonel William Christian, patriot and village founder Adam Hance, storekeeper Henry Hance, neighbor Mary Draper Ingles, Representative Benjamin Franklin Wysor, Colonel Rutherford B. Hayes, tavern guest Andrew Jackson, and so many other people who once visited or lived in Newbern will once again make an appearance.

Kid's activities in the log kitchen including besom making, corn husk dolls, and colonial games for your enjoyment before and after the wagon rides. Fresh mulled Newbern Cider and pear butter cookies will be available while they last.

All aspects of the Spirits Along the Wilderness Road are family friendly and educational in purpose and content.

The cost is $10.00 per rider with trips leaving every thirty minutes.

Due to the extreme popularity and limited wagon space per ride, it is advise to reserve your time. Call the museum at 540-674-4835 or email wrrm5240@gmail.com to make a reservation.

All proceeds support other educational outreach for the museum.

Sponsored in part by Hethwood and Foxridge Apartments of Blacksburg, VA.
