Description: Roanoke South County Library presents Your Life Matters 2nd Annual National Bullying Prevention Month Event on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

CEO & Founder Colleen Burns will share a brief introduction on Your Life Matters Empowerment Alliance, her story of bullying in school and in the workplace, how martial arts has helped her face adversity due to bullying, and the creation of a bullying prevention non-profit organization in Roanoke, VA, using self-defense as one of its many services.

A 1 1/2 hour self-defense program focused on bullying prevention techniques will also be conducted by the creator and developer of the program, Master Chief Clifton Eli Abercrombie, and Master Chief Jessica Maupin from Warrior Success Academy and Superkicks, Forest VA.

The event will also feature two guest speakers, Roanoke City Vice-Mayor Joe Cobb and Educational Consultant Courtney Pugh, followed by a 30 minute Q&A session.

Light refreshments and snacks will be served. The event is kid friendly.
