Description: Claytor Lake State Park presents a Free Concert with The Antecedents on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Gazebo.

Join us as we welcome The Antecedents to Claytor Lake State Park.

The Antecedents are a heartfelt American roots, rock ‘n roll band from the mountains of Appalachia in Southwest Virginia. With three-part harmony leading the sound you will find yourselves emerged in the vibes of the singer-song writer.

The Antecedents began as a local duo and are now a six piece band dedicated to writing songs with substance, and depth. With influences ranging from all over the timeline of music this acoustic duo has found a unique but familiar approach to modern songwriting, while staying true to the format that captivates a listener's enjoyment. Performing folk, roots, pop, alternative and country.

Throughout 2017 they began opening for national acts, performing at renowned festivals and released their first full length record, “Long Way Home”. The band won the Flight to FloydFest Series in 2018 and earned FloydFest 2018's On the Rise featured act spot and after a fantastic performance have been invited back.

The concert is free although there is the normal $7.00 per vehicle fee accessed as you enter the park.

The concert will take place at the Gazebo by the lake shore behind the Howe House with plenty of parking in front. Seating will be on the lawn so bring blankets, chairs, etc. or listen from the lake if you want to paddle or motor up in your watercraft.

You may bring picnics, snacks, and drinks although there are no alcoholic beverages allowed in the park.
