The Town of Christiansburg presents its 21st Annual Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2019 on Main and Hickok Streets in downtown Christiansburg, VA. Enjoy live music, craft and business vendors, food trucks, kids zone activities, your favorite Christiansburg Farmers' Market regulars and more! Music Schedule: • 10:30 am: Fritz Schindler • 12:00 pm: Half Throttle • 1:30 pm: Don and the Deltones Fritz Schindler is a whirlwind of musical enthusiasm. His energetic live shows combine him playing a vast array of traditional Appalachian instruments—mandolin, guitar, hammered dulcimer, bouzouki, banjo, percussion—along with his versatile singing voice and occasionally a few friends. Frequently added into the mix are live-looping and layering techniques, combined together to make a unique and spell-binding experience we like to call Contagious Folk ‘n’ Roll. Over the years, Fritz has shared the stage with such notable acts as Hawk Nelson, The Vespers, Raymond & Ruth McLain, The New Coon Creek Girls, Nevertheless, BlueTree, Ilia, The Afters, and 7eventh Time Down. In 2014 Fritz began touring with a full backing band, playing concerts, churches, and festivals in Tennessee, West Virginia, and his home states of Virginia and Kentucky. In 2015, Fritz hit the road again with his talented backing band, The Saucy Fellows, as well as playing a few solo shows, both featuring more instrumental songs, live-looping, and as always, the signature smile and warm enthusiasm he brings to every stage. Don and the Deltones are a long running local band, originating in the 1960s, performing a blend of old school R&B, beach, soul and rock music. Admission is free and all are welcome. Later in the evening head to the New River Valley Mall and Wal-Mart area for fireworks starting around 9:15 pm.
