The Town of Christiansburg Farmers' Market presents their annual Dog Days of Summer Contests as part of the weekly farmers market on Thursday, June 27, 2019 on Hickok Street in downtown Christiansburg, Virginia. Bring your dog to the market for our Dog Days of Summer contest where your best friend will be put to the test in the following categories: • Best Smile • Best Trick • Best Costume • Senior Dog • Biggest Dog • Smallest Dog • Best Look-Alike with Owner Registration for the event will occur at the Market Manager’s tent on Hickok Street from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. The show and judging begins at 5:45 pm. You can enter your pet into any or all of the categories at no cost. No experience is necessary, this is purely for fun. The first-place winners in each category will go home with some fun treats. There will also be live music by Steve Smith, wine tastings by Whitebarrel Winery, a moon bounce and all of your favorite market vendors. In addition to the dog festivities, Braley and Thompson will be on site with “Dirt Ice Crème” and the New River Health District will have fresh produce and nutrition advice. If you buy $10.00 worth of items from any one vendor, you'll receive a ticket to enter our Market Basket Raffle which will include a variety of produce from market vendors. We'll be raffling the basket off at 6:30 pm so please make your purchases and drop your raffle tickets off at the Farmers' Market Manager's booth before then. Admission is free and all are welcome. All dogs must be kept on leash while at the Christiansburg Farmers’ Market, and as always, please clean up after your pet. The Christiansburg Farmers' Market is held May through October and operates every Thursday from 3:00-7:00 pm on Hickok Street.
