The Newport Jamboree wraps up their 2019 Jamboree Series with their August 2019 event featuring the music of Scott Fore and County Connection on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Newport Community Park. Enjoy old time and bluegrass music by the Sinking Creek. Scott Fore is an internationally recognized guitarist from Radford, VA having won the National Flatpicking Championships two times that is held in Winfield, Kansas. He is also the Doc Watson guitar champion and the Wayne Henderson Champion of Champions. He has also has published a popular instructional book on flatpicking. Its members include Pam Landreth on bass, Frank Garman on guitar, Garry Williams on banjo and Melvin Linkous on fiddle. We will ask for a $5.00 donation from each adult to cover the bands and pay for the park rental. Kids under 12 get in free. Bring a chair, pack a swimsuit and invite a friend.
