The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents the comedy "The Foreigner" as part of their Mainstage Theatre series at the Squires Studio Theatre inside the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech. Performance Schedule: • Tuesday, February 26th at 7:30 pm • Wednesday, February 27th at 7:30 pm • Friday, March 1st at 7:30 pm • Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 pm • Saturday, March 2nd at 7:30 pm • Monday, March 4th at 7:30 pm • Tuesday, March 5th at 7:30 pm • Wednesday, March 6th at 7:30 pm A fishing lodge in rural Georgia is the setting for Larry Shue’s comedy “The Foreigner,” where two Englishmen, Froggy, and Charlie arrive as guests. Pathologically shy and overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers, Charlie passes himself off as a foreigner from an exotic country who speaks no English. He soon overhears more than he should, as the lodge’s guests begin revealing their secrets, some benign, some less so, leading to a wildly funny ending in which things go uproariously awry for the “bad guys” and the “good guys” emerge triumphant.
