Description: Let's Code Blacksburg presents a Let's Code IoT Developer Workshop & Show-n-Tell on Monday, March 4, 2019 inside the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.

Ever wonder how to get started in designing or creating an IoT device? What IS an "Internet of Things" device anyway? What are the common free and commercial platforms out there? How do you put your Arduino or RaspberryPi on line? How is one to get started? What programming languages (if any) are required? What technology stacks are out there?

Come to what we're privately calling our "IoT Show-n-Tell".. or more precisely.. things that technical community professionals/hobbyists do to get started when designing their own Internet connected "thing".

Examples we have ready to demo, show and discuss are:
* Wireless Home Monitoring ? SMS (Wifi + SMS)
* Remote Engine Heater Control (WiFi + Cloud)
* Beaglebone (embedded Linux computer) Overview
* ESPlink: esp826 wifi-serial bridge (put things on line cheap!)
* Bring your own IoT Device to show along with us!!

If you plan to bring your own, please email: coordinators(at)LetsCodeBlacksburg.org.

Pizza and drinks included with low $5.00 RSVP.

The event will be held at 1880 Pratt Drive inside Suite #2018 in Blacksburg, VA within the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.
