Description: The Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech presents the class "Introduction to Mushroom Foraging: Learn A Year's Worth of Wild Edible Mushrooms in One Day" with Frank Hyman on Friday, March 15, 2019.

Want to learn to safely identify morels, chanterelles, chicken of the woods and other edible mushrooms? Learn an entire year's worth of edible, easy to identify mushrooms presented in one sitting. Class includes slide show, handout and Q&A time.

Frank is a professional forager who’s certified to sell wild mushrooms in three states. One mushroom he foraged weighed 33-pounds. He learned to gather wild edible plants and mushrooms from foragers in seven states and six countries.

Frank writes the only foraging column in a national publication for Paleo magazine and teaches foraging to chefs, arborists, organic farmers, gardeners, and the general public. He is the author of "Hentopia: Create Hassle-Free Habitat for Happy Chickens; 21 Innovative Projects".
