The Kazim Misfits and Giles Shrine Club presents Down the River, a Poker Run Float on the New River starting at Pembroke, Virginia on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Event Schedule: • 10:00 am: Check-In / Registration • 11:00 am: Start Join Down the River for a fun time on the New River! The best hand grand prize is a new kayak! Proceeds benefit the Giles Shrine Club and Kazim Misfits activities. After the float, there will be a Ladies Night Fish Fry featuring fish, hushpuppies, slaw and corn. Available beverages include water, tea, lemonade and coke products. A grill will be available for other items if needed. The event is BYOB. Bring your own kayak, canoe, paddle board or tube and life jacket. Equipment is also available on site if reserved. Kayaks and canoes are $15.00 and tubes are $10.00. Tickets include game card, 50/50 entry, meal and t-shirt if available. Advance tickets are $25.00 per person or $30.00 the day of the event. Note: Payments are not tax deductible as a charitable contribution. The Boat Landing is located at 782 Caboose Lane in Pembroke, Virginia.
