2018 EFFORT Event for Special Needs Youth & Adults:

Description: The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with law enforcement, fire, and rescue departments from across the New River Valley present the 2018 EFFORT (Enabling Friends For Our Response Teams) Event on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Christiansburg Rec Center.

Montgomery County First Responders are joining forces to develop a program focusing on our community of individuals with disabilities. Enjoy food, fun and training plus many new friendships!

Participants and their families will enjoy:
• Obstacle Courses Adapted For All Abilities
• Training on Effective Bandaging
• Proper Method for Contacting 911
• Training on Safe Use of Fire Extinguishers
• Chance to Try on Firefighter Gear
and more!

Admission is free and pre-registration is not required.

To meet the needs of your loved one, you will be asked a series of questions to best prepare those assisting with the event.

This is a collaborative event with the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.
