The Town of Blacksburg and the Mount Tabor Ruritan Club present the 32nd Annual 4th of July Parade on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in downtown Blacksburg, Virginia starting at 2:00 pm. Enjoy floats, bicycles, wagons, marchers, walkers, antique and classic cars, race cars, horses, fire engines, scouts, bands, sports teams and more in the annual Blacksburg 4th of July Parade. The parade route begins at the old Blacksburg Middle School property at the corner of Eheart and South Main Streets and continues along Main Street ending at Alumni Mall near Virginia Tech's Drillfield. The theme of the 2018 parade is "Blacksburg Volunteers". Trophies will be given out for the best theme representation, best youth parade entry and best overall parade entry. This year the Grand Marshal will be Dudley Scott. At 93, he is one of the oldest surviving coal miners who worked in the local mines. The parade starts at 2:00 pm and the line-up begins at 1:30 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome. Immediately after the parade, enjoy the free 4th of July movie "Up" inside The Lyric Theatre. All are welcome.
