Description: Historic Smithfield Plantation presents Boom, Blues & BBQ: 2018 Flag Day Celebration as part of the 2018 Mountains of Music Homecoming on Friday, June 15, 2018.

Booms, Blues & BBQ includes house tours, an afternoon concert with Scott Perry starting at 4:00 pm and outside demonstrations and living history.

Scott Perry & Front Porch Swing is an acoustic trio that perform an entertaining and engaging blend of vintage blues, jazz, rock & roll and honky tonk.

Featuring Scott Perry on reso-phonic guitar and ukulele, Tom Ohmsen on Mandolin and Kevin Kittredge on upright bass, the band’s sound can be described as Homer and Jethro sit in with Duke Ellington with guest appearances by Robert Johnson, Ukulele Ike, Elvis and Johnny Cash.

Admission is $10.00.

UPDATE:
Due to unexpected circumstances, there will be no horse drawn wagon shuttle to Solitude.

The celebration at this early 19th century plantation home will coordinate with the other Preston home, Solitude, for shared experiences. Visitors will be encouraged to travel between the two Preston homes and enjoy learning the shared history along with partaking in the entertaining and educational experiences at each site.
