Draper Mercantile and Trading Company presents their Summer Musician Showcase on Friday, June 1, 2018. Join us for a fun evening of great music and food! We will have The Antecedents playing live here at the Merc along with an appetizer buffet that is sure to put you in the summertime feels! The Antecedents are a heartfelt American roots, rock ‘n roll band from the mountains of Appalachia in Southwest Virginia. With three-part harmony leading the sound you will find yourselves emerged in the vibes of the singer-song writer. The Antecedents began as a local duo and are now a six piece band dedicated to writing songs with substance, and depth. With influences ranging from all over the timeline of music this acoustic duo has found a unique but familiar approach to modern songwriting, while staying true to the format that captivates a listener's enjoyment. Performing folk, roots, pop, alternative and country. Throughout 2017 they began opening for national acts, performing at renowned festivals and released their first full length record, “Long Way Home”. The band won the Flight to FloydFest Series in 2018 and earned FloydFest 2018's On the Rise featured act spot and after a fantastic performance have been invited back.
