Volume II Bookstore presents a Blacksburg Book Reading for "Shadows of Flowers" with Author Holly Kays on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Debuting her new novel, "Shadows of Flowers", Holly Kays will hold a talk and reading as well as a Q&A Session and book signing. Set amongst the prairies of Wyoming and the mountains of Virginia, the novel follows the story of Dana Stullman, who has her world turned upside down when her boyfriend dies in a car accident. At just 22 years old, she packs up and moves across the country to escape the reminders, but when a crisis in the wind-swept Wyoming wilderness forces her to confront the past, Dana finds herself having to choose a path for the future. Students and locals will appreciate Kays' many references to campus and Blacksburg as the book's main character recalls her time as a student at Virginia Tech. Holly Kays is a writer and journalist living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Having earned more than 20 state and national awards during her news reporting career thus far, she covers a range of topics for the regional newsmagazine "The Smoky Mountain News".
