Description: Floyd County Old Time Music Get-Together presents One Hour Afternoon Workshops on Friday, March 16, 2018 and Saturday, 17, 2018 at the Floyd EcoVillage.

The Handmade Music School is offering a series of one-hour afternoon workshops as part of the Floyd County Old Time Music Get-Together. Workshops include intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar, dance, and singing.

Saturday Schedule:

Saturday, March 17th from 4:00-4:50 pm:
• Mac Traynham & Andy Buckman: Fiddle / Banjo Duets
• Ben Nelson: Core Rhythms, Chords, and Anchor Notes: Tools for Jamming and • Learning by Ear (all instruments)
• Trevor McKenzie: Finger Pickin’ Good – An Intro to 2 Finger Banjo Styles
• Emily Miller: Song Session

Saturday, March 17th from 5:00-5:50 pm:
• Shay Garriock: Fiddle Setup for Best Tone and Playability or Tunes
• Rachel Eddy: Singing with the Fiddle
• Joe “joebass” DeJarnette: Sound Reinforcement for Stringband Concerts and Dances
• Becky Hill: Body Percussion 101

We are opening these workshops to the public.

Pre-registration is required. The cost is $25.00 per workshop.

The Handmade Music School, along with The Floyd Country Store, is excited to announce the First Annual Floyd County Old Time Music Get-Together at EcoVillage in Floyd County, Virginia.This amazing four day camp will take place on March 15–18, 2018.

The Floyd Old Time Music Get-Together offers intermediate and advanced classes in fiddle, banjo, guitar dance and singing. Afternoon sessions will feature presentations and workshops with visiting masters, and evenings will offer square-dancing, concerts and lots of tune-playing opportunities.

Floyd EcoVillage is located at 188 Eco Village Trail in Floyd, VA.
