Description: The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts continues their 2017/2018 Music on Mondays concert series with a Faculty Recital on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Squires Recital Salon.

Faculy members horn player Wallace Easter, violinist Nicole Paglialonga, violin, and pianist Jay Crone, perform Trio for Horn, Violin, and Piano by Eric Ewazen and Trio, OP. 40 for Violin, Horn, and Piano by Johannes Brahms.

In 1981, Wallace Easter joined the faculty of the Department of Music at Virginia Tech, and the Roanoke Symphony as principal horn. He began his professional performing career with the United States Marine Band, “The President's Own” in Washington, D.C.

Jay Crone joined the Virginia Tech faculty in 1994. He has performed with many symphony orchestras and bands throughout the United States, including the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra. He is currently the Principal Trombone of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Opera Roanoke, and the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra.

Nicole Paglialonga directs the String Project at Virginia Tech. As a professional violinist, she has appeared in recital as a soloist, with chamber groups, or in orchestras on four different continents; locally she is a member of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and the Ash Lawn Opera. An enthusiastic performer of contemporary music, Nicole has had several works by living composers written specifically for her and received invitations to play at new music festivals and venues around the country.
