Time: 7:30 - 9:30 PM
Venue: Squires Studio Theatre
Organizations: Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts
Description: The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents a one-person performance "An Iliad" performed by Daniel Bird Tobin on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Squires Studio Theatre on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Over the course of 95 minutes, "An Iliad" collides Homer's classic story of the Trojan War into the modern world. The lone figure onstage is a storyteller who confronts the empty stage and the absent muses to recount this epic story.

Arriving in Blacksburg after a tour across the US and to England, the production has been called "riveting" by the Duluth News Tribune and "astounding," "stunning," and "captivating" by audiences. Originally produced by #theaternow this production has been directed by Tommy Butler and Amanda Pintore.

"AN ILIAD" is written by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare and based on Homer’s "The Iliad" translated by Robert Fagles.
