Description: For The Culture: Hip Hop at Virginia Tech presents Digging in the Crates #4: Beat Battle & Music Production Workshop on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Virginia Tech's Newman Library's first floor Multipurpose Room.

Join Scratch DJ Academy Atlanta's Yamin Semali and some of the area's best music producers for a head-to-head beat battle. Stimulator Jones, Poe Mack, Wynn Yang and Electrobro will be competing. After the battle, Yamin will lead a workshop breaking down his artistic process

Digging in the Crates: Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech is a seminar series that serves as a celebration of hip hop with both a local and global focus. Each iteration will feature a 40 minute presentation, panel and/or discussion, a 40 minute workshop, and 40 minutes of performances.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
