2017 Eight Mile Bridge Challenge Walk:

Description: Christiansburg Parks and Recreation presents the 3rd Annual Eight Mile Bridge Challenge Walk to celebrate the completion of the Renva W. Knowles Bridge and the ongoing expansion of the Huckleberry Trail on Saturday, September 16, 2017 starting at the Christiansburg Rec Center.

Schedule:
• 8:00-8:15 am - Check In
• 8:30 am - Bus Departs the Christiansburg Rec Center

Participants will walk the length of the Huckleberry Trail, starting at the Blacksburg Library, crossing the Renva W. Knowles Bridge over Peppers Ferry Road and ending at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. The estimate time for walking is 2.5-3.0 hours.

The event is free to the public, but capped at 70 participants, due to limited space on the bus. All participants to register will receive a complimentary t-shirt. The registration deadline is Monday, September 4, 2017. Call 540-382-2349 for availability.

Note: Forms need to be dropped off at the Christiansburg Rec Center.

Any walker under the age of 17 must be supervised by an adult. For safety reasons, no animals are allowed on the bus.

Proper hydration will be the responsibility of the participant. Please bring your own water in your personal water bottle. Water stations will be located at the Warm Hearth Road crossing and Renva W. Knowles Bridge.

The walk will be held rain or shine.
