The New River Valley Historic Dance Society (NRVHDS) presents "Historical Dancing: An Evening Dancing with Friends" on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Sapphire Ballroom & Dance Center. Join us for a night of English Country dancing featuring dances from the 17th, 18th, and 19th Centuries. Social dancing in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries was an integral part of English and Colonial American society, bring together neighborhoods, families, and communities. Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we learn how to dance these fascinating relics of a bygone era. No experience or partner necessary! Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you dance with us. Children are welcome. Casual attire appropriate. NRVHDS meets on the Second Tuesday of the month (other than February) at Sapphire Ballroom in Christiansburg, VA.
