The Blacksburg Newcomers present their September Meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. Mayor Ron Rordam will speak at September 12 meeting of Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club What stories Mayor Rordam must have about Blacksburg! Since he first served on Town Council in 1996 until this year when he steps down after six years as Vice Mayor and three terms as Mayor, his rich background in municipal government and leadership promises an entertaining and educational morning for Newcomers. Come hear Mayor Rordam recount his experiences as Mayor, review the transformations he has seen in Blacksburg, relate Blacksburg’s successes as well as its struggles, and share his views on its future. No matter how long you have lived in the area, since birth or you’ve just moved in, the Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the New River Valley. There is no cost for guests attending the meeting. Membership dues are $25.00 a year and include participation in interest groups. Free babysitting is available for pre-school children ages 6 months and older.
