Roanoke County Parks, Recreation & Tourism present the 9th Annual Green Hill Highland Games on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA. Enjoy watching Scottish Highland games featuring both male and female competitors, live music, bagpipes, Scottish Country Dancers, Scottish Clans, children's fun Highland games, food and drink and more! Athletics Competition include: • Open Stone Putt - 28lb for distance • Caber Toss - 56lb for distance • Scottish Hammer Throw - 22lb • Sheaf Toss - 56lb for height Admission is free for spectators and all are welcome. Donations will be collected for Warrior 360, a charity to support the needs of United States Military service members, their families and all others who serve public safety.
