New River Valley Amateur Radio Club - 2017 Field Day:

Date: June 25, 2017
Time: 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Venue: Loving Field
Description: The New River Valley Amateur Radio Club presents their 2017 Field Day on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Loving Field in Pulaski, VA.

Field Day is ham radio's Open House. Every June, more than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities and our nation.

It combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

For those who have never experienced ham radio before, all you need to bring is an open mind, and an interest in science or communications.

The event starts at noon on Saturday, June 24, 2017 and continues through the night ending at noon on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

The best time to attend is between 2-6 pm on Saturday, but this event is an all-niter, as our radio operators will be making contact throughout the evening and thru the night reaching people from around the world!

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Loving Field is located along Loving Field Road in Pulaski, VA.
