The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents a Civil War Cemetery Tour on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg, VA. Participate in a walking tour led by Smithfield Museum Director April Danner, of the Westview and Preston Cemeteries. Fighting, dying, surviving, wounds, prisons, hospitals -- these are just some of the stories you will hear about when we meet at the Westview Cemetery at 9 am. Then, we will move on to the Preston Cemetery to learn more about how the Civil War dramatically changed the life of one family forever. The Westview Cemetery is located at 723 East Roanoke Street in Blacksburg, VA. Smithfield Plantation is located at 1000 Smithfield Plantation Road in Blacksburg, VA.
