Description: The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents the “Buried in Blacksburg” Exhibit Reception on Friday, April 28, 2017 hosted by the Alexander Black House & Cultural Center.

This spring, 25 Virginia Tech students completed intensive research projects, focused on local men and women, soldier and civilian, free and enslaved, who lived through the American Civil War and were buried in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Come see the hauntingly beautiful images of gravestones, taken by Justus Darby. Each image is accompanied by detailed student research. This exhibit culminates in a special reception Friday afternoon, hosted by the students, who look forward to sharing how the deadliest war in American history affected local citizens.

This exhibit will be hosted by the Alexander Black House from Monday, April 24 to Monday, May 1, 2017.

The Alexander Black House is located at 204 Draper Road Southwest in Blacksburg, VA.
