Documentary Film Screening and Q&A Session: Bobwhites on the Brink:

Date: March 29, 2017
Time: 6:30 - 9:00 PM
Venue: Radford University Planetarium
Description: The Radford University and Virginia Tech Student Chapters of The Wildlife Society present a Documentary Film Screening of "Bobwhites on the Brink" on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Radford University Planetarium.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A Session with biologists and local landowners working on bobwhite quail in and around Virginia.

"Bobwhites on the Brink" is the result of a collaboration between the Northern Bobwhite Conservation Initiative and the PBS series This American Land to examine the “big picture” of the bobwhite decline in settings that once produced copious quantities of quail and no longer do – forests, row crop farming and cattle grazing.

The film visits several sites in the Southeast to see how these activities have changed over the decades and how public and private landowners, and public policy makers can make room for bobwhites and other grassland birds once again.

The run time for the film is approximately 30 minutes. The Q&A Session will follow the screening.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

General seating opens at 6:30 pm.
