Description: The Virginia Tech Department of Religion & Culture presents the 2nd Annual Religion & Culture Film Series featuring Mean Girls on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Lyric Theatre.

Professor Danille Elise Christensen will introduce "Mean Girls" and link it to larger cultural and religious themes in the contemporary world.

In the film, Cady Heron, a homeschooled girl, lived in Africa for 15 years. Entering public school for the first time, she meets the "worst" of her classmates, the Plastics. She joins and eventually gets assimilated into the group of three unkind girls. But she later tries to bring them down.

The film is rated PG-13.
