The 40th Annual Appalachian Studies Conference, Extreme Appalachia!, is coming to the Virginia Tech campus March 9 through 12, 2017. The four-day event will highlight the cultures, histories, creative expressions and environmental and economic issues facing the entirety of Appalachia. Attendees will explore Appalachia through engaging programs, music and dramatic performances, symposia, and exhibits by scholars, community organizers and leaders and activists. Registration is open to everyone and free to VT students.
