Radford University Athletics and the Radford University Athletics Foundation present the inaugural Highlander Half Marathon, 8K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, April 29, 2017 starting and finishing at the Dedmon Center. Schedule: • 6:00-7:30 am - Packet Pick-Up & Late Registration for 8K & Half • 8:00 am - Half Marathon and 8K begin • 8:00-8:45 am - Packet Pick-Up & Late Registration for Kids Fun Run • 9:00 am - Kids Fun Run begin • 10:00 am - 8K Awards Ceremony • 11:00 am - Half Marathon Awards Ceremony • 1:00 pm - Post Race Festival Closes The race course will take runners on a tour of Radford that includes our beautiful campus and the surrounding neighborhoods. As runners head back to the Dedmon Center, the 8K folks will head to the finish line and the Half Marathon runners will continue on their tour through Wildwood Park and some gorgeous neighborhoods around the city. All runners will enjoy a spectacular finish line celebration with great food, live music and activities for the children. Early Registration is available through February 28, 2017. Regular Registration is available through March 31, 2017 and April 24, 2017 is the final day for online registration. After April 24, 2017, registration forms can be dropped off at the Radford University Dedmon Center (if your local) or you can register at packet-pick-up Friday or Saturday. This will be the last opportunity to register for one of the three race options or to change your race distance. All Half Marathon and 8K finishers will receive a short sleeved technical t-shirt, finisher's medal and post race food and festivities. Awards will be given out for overall male and female and the top three finishers in each group for both the Half Marathon and 8K. All Kids Fun Run participants will be awarded a medal followed by a finish line celebration with snacks and beverages and all registered participants will also receive a unique short-sleeved cotton t-shirt to commemorate their accomplishment. Come join us for the inaugural race and the FIRST Half Marathon in the City of Radford! Wear your Highlander gear and show your support for our Radford University Highlanders. Kilts are strongly encouraged! All race proceeds will be used to support the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund which provides scholarship aid to our sixteen varsity sports.
