Stafford Art Glass presents Glassblowing Open Studio on Saturday, December 10, 2016 and Sunday, December 11, 2016. Stafford Artglass of Newport will open its doors to the public for a weekend demonstration event at its studio. Work featured will be the original designs of glassblowing artisan Parker Stafford that will include firsts and seconds, all at greatly reduced prices. Items for sale will include blown glass ornaments, vases, bowls, paperweights, sculptural items, and experimental work. Our featured demonstration during the weekend will be torch-worked glass. This is a family-friendly event and we enjoy educating everyone about this ancient art form. Refreshments will be served. Gift boxing is free and available for all ornaments and for some paperweights. The studio is located at 8685 Virginia Avenue in Newport, Virginia. We are located on Route 460W 9/10 of a mile after entering Giles County coming from Blacksburg. We are only 6.5 miles from Blacksburg.
