The Blacksburg Master Chorale presents Christmas Classics Choral & Orchestra Performance on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech. The Blacksburg Master Chorale collaborates with orchestra and the Virginia Tech Chamber Singers for an evening featuring Vivaldi’s exciting Gloria, Vaughan William’s festive Fantasia on Christmas Carols, and Finzi’s stunning In terra pax. These masterworks were written by three diverse men, each showing their desire for a world of peace: an ordained Italian priest, an atheist-turned-agnostic nephew of Charles Darwin, and a Jewish agnostic and British pacifist who strongly believed that the creative artist is the “prime representative of a civilization.” Tickets can be purchased at the door and online.
