Smithfield Plantation presents their annual "The Holidays at Historic Smithfield" on Friday, December 2, 2016 through Sunday, December 4, 2016. Saturday Schedule: • 11:00 am - 4:00 pm - Susanna's Tea Seatings • 11:00-11:30 am: Laura Clark & Susan Chambers (Vocals & Guitar) • 11:45 am - 12:15 pm: Becky Coffey (Harp) • 12:30-1:30 pm: Blacksburg Recorder Society with Vocalist • 2:30-3:15 pm: Nyos String Quartet • 3:30-4:00 pm: Katie Bisset & Daniel Burton (Flute & Guitar) • 4:15-4:45 pm: Student Guitar Ensemble from Renaissance Music Academy * Note: Last Tea Seating is at 4:00 pm The Holidays at Historic Smithfield special theme this year is "Honey, Hops, and the Holidays: The Domestic Industries of Smithfield Plantation". The event features the house decorated for Christmas in proper period form, live traditional music and your choice of luncheon or tea. Your ticket will provide you with an enjoyable weekend with access to all of the musical events and special house display over the three day event, along with either a Friday luncheon or single seating at Susanna's Tea. But, what your ticket prices get Smithfield is just as special. Funds from the Annual Holidays event will help with all the operational expenses during the winter months and allow for planning, collections care, and all the other tasks associated with caring for a 243 year old house. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Reservations are required for Friday luncheon and recommended for all parties larger than four guests. To purchase advance tickets call 540-231-3947.
