Giles County presents The Muddy ACCE Race on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Glen Lyn Park. The Muddy ACCE Race is a 5K, 20 obstacle mud course. Muddy ACCE Race is designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line but if you can complete the challenge. A challenge that emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something almost as tough as you are. Run as an individual or get a team of 5+ together to give it a go. The Muddy ACCE Race is for ages 13 and up. For the kiddos, ages 6-12, we have the Kid’s Mud Run and Children’s Mud Pit. Student and military rates available when registering. Along the banks of the New River in Southwest Virginia, this race has a rope swing out onto open water and 20 other challenges…think you can handle it? The proceeds from this event support the Access to Community College Education (ACCE) Program in Giles County, a County and New River Community College partnership. Giles County is the first locality in the New River Valley to participate in the “Access to Community College Education” initiative. ACCE is a public / private partnership that makes college available tuition-free to graduates from Giles County by covering the cost of tuition for two years at New River Community College.
